Diagnóstico de lesão intra-óssea por imagem / Image diagnosis of intraosseous lesion in maxillary sinus

RESUMO

A tomografia computadorizada é um exame imageológico bastante utilizado atualmente na clínica odontológica abrangendo quase todas as áreas. As imagens figuram-se sem sobreposição e com riquezas de detalhes das estruturas que são pouco visíveis pelo método radiográfico convencional. A imagem em 3D permite ao profissional uma maior visualização do caso e segurança no planejamento. O objetivo deste trabalho é relatar a importância da tomografia computadorizada para o diagnóstico e aplicação da terapêutica adequada no caso de um tumor odontogênico queratocístico em seio maxilar de uma criança de 14 anos do sexo feminino.

ABSTRACT

The computorized tomography is an imaging exam widely used nowadays in dental clinics involving almost all the areas in dentistry. It shows images without overlapping them and enabling rich details to be observed in the less visible structures details when compared to the conventional radiography. The 3D image allows the professional a higher visualization of the case and provides confidence in the dental planning. The aim of this work is to relate the importance of the computorized tomography for the diagnosis and applying of the proper therapeutics in a case of an odontogenic keratocyst tumour which invaded the maxillary sinus of a female fourteen-year-old child.
