RESUMO
Com o fim da ditadura militar no Brasil, as pressões sociaise políticas advindas dos movimentos populares colocaram para ossetores progressistas da sociedade o desafio de formular projetos parademocratizar o país. No campo educacional, o debate político sobre asdiretivas para organizar a escola pôs em confronto duas grandes concepções.De um lado, a noção de “aparelho ideológico de Estado”, propostapor Louis Althusser, e, de outro, a idéia de que a escola é “aparelho‘privado’ de hegemonia”, baseada na reflexão de Antonio Gramsci.O confronto entre as duas noções de escola e os problemas da assimilaçãodo pensamento gramsciano na área educacional, cujos efeitos alcançama atualidade, é o objeto de análise deste ensaio.
ABSTRACT
After the Brazilian military dictatorship, the social and politicalpressures exerted by popular movements challenged the most progressivegroups of society to propose projects to democratize the country.In the area of education, the political debates concerning guidelinesto organize school opposed two major conceptions the notion of “ideologicalState apparatus”, defended by Louis Althusser, and the idea thatschool is a “hegemonic ‘private’ apparatus”, based on Antonio Gramsci’sreflection. This paper explores the confrontation between both notionsof schooling and the problems of assimilating Gramscian thoughts inthe field of education, whose effects still persist.
