ABSTRACT
The proprioceptive exercises are accomplished in rehabilitation and several unstable soils are used for that with the objective of improving the joint stability trough the mechanical and sensorial properties of the ligaments, from tehe joint capsule and of the fusal activity of the muscles around the joint. The myoletrical characteristic of the muscles in activity can be identified trouhgh the electromyography. The aim of present study was to compare electromyography activity of ankle s muscles at different supports, so much with eyes open or closed. In agreement with the obtained results, the proprioceptive tests with the closed eyes presented larger electromyographic activation, with significant difference, in comparison with open eyes. The results showed a signficant increase in the alectromyographic activity of most of the analyzed muscles, with increase significantly larger with the closed eyes compared to open eyes in all tested supports, except for medium gastrosnemis muscle.
