Afetividade na relação paciente e ambiente hospitalar / Affection in relationship patient and environment hospital

RESUMO

O objetivo desse artigo é discutir a afetividade como categoria de análise da relação paciente e ambiente hospitalar. Esse artigo é parte do desenvolvimento da Dissertação de Mestrado, intitulada "Afetividade e ambiente hospitalar construção de significados pelo paciente oncológico com dor". Buscou-se uma compreensão histórico-cultural na relação entre percepção e ação, subjetividade e objetividade, paciente e hospital, enfatizando a afetividade (emoções e sentimentos) como possibilidade de integração e superação da visão dicotômica dessas dimensões. Partiu-se dos pressupostos de que a afetividade pode ser uma forma de se conhecer o ambiente hospitalar e de que a experiência emocional é um indicador da ação e da forma como o paciente se implica nesse espaço. Com intuito de enriquecer a pesquisa bibliográfica, fez-se uso de um estudo preliminar realizado durante a elaboração do texto da dissertação. Nesse trabalho de campo, foi utilizada uma metodologia de apreensão dos afetos desenvolvida por Bomfim (2003) na sua tese de doutorado, a saber os mapas afetivos. A princípio, definiu-se afetividade como sentimentos e emoções. No segundo momento, procurou-se discutir sobre a afetividade como categoria mediadora de dicotomias presentes na ciência psicológica, iniciando pela razão x emoção, em seguida, enfocando a relação mente x corpo no contexto hospitalar. Discutiu-se, então, sobre importância da cultura nas formas de manifestação dos sentimentos, emoções e sensações corporais, enfocando os aspectos socio-culturais da dor. Referenciando-se na noção de que o impacto emocional do ambiente interfere nas condutas humanas, empreendeu-se, também, uma discussão sobre a afetividade como mediadora da ação-transformação. Os resultados apontaram para imagens de contraste, sofrimento, agradabilidade e insegurança presentes no ambiente hospitalar e como o estudo do ambiente por intermédio da afetividade pode favorecer a humanização e o tratamento dos pacientes oncológicos...

ABSTRACT

This article aims to discuss the affection as an analysis category of the relation between the patient and the hospital. This work is a part of the master's dissertation entitled "Affection and hospital construction of meanings by the oncologic patient with pain". We aimed to bring a historic-cultural understanding about the relationships between perception and action, subjectivity and objectivity, patient and hospital, emphasizing the affection (feelings and emotions) as a possibility of integration and overcoming the dichotomy of these dimensions. It was based on the assumptions that the affection may be a way to understand the hospital environment and that the emotional experience is an indicator of the patient action and how he gets involved in this space. In order to enrich the literature investigation, we used a preliminary study carried out during the preparation of the dissertation text. In this work, we used an affection apprehension methodology developed by Bomfim (2003) in her doctoral thesis, namely the affective maps. At first, it was defined what is meant by affection, feelings and emotions. Secondly, we have tried to discuss the affection as a mediator category for the dichotomies in the psychological science, beginning with rationality x emotion, then focusing on the relationship mind x body in hospital context. We discussed, then, on the importance of culture in the forms to express feelings, emotions and body sensations, focusing on the social and cultural aspects of pain. We took as a reference the notion that the emotional impact of the environment affects human conduct, and we also had a discussion on affection as a mediator of the action/transformation. The results brought us images of contrast, suffering and safety in the hospital environment and also showed how the study of the environment through the affection may promote the humanization and the treatment of oncologic patients with pain.
