ABSTRACT
The goal of this study was to evaluate the body composition (body mass, stature, skin folds, body circumferences) and the level of aerobic power (VO2máx.) of female volleyball players and school of Physical Education discipline. It is a comparative descriptive research of transversal design with investigation variables collected in two subjects groups Group 1 formed by girls-athletes and Group 2 formed by girls-school and in each group were evaluated 25 subject in the of age band from 13 to 16 years. The aerobic power was indirectly measure through the 12 minute Cooper test and the body composition was estimated through the technique of skin folds. The test .t. of Student did not reveal significant differences (p < 0,05) so much in the measures of the skin folds as in the body circumferences between both groups. In the measures of the body mass, stature and aerobic power the results presented significant differences (p < 0,05) among groups. The aerobic power was the variable that presented larger magnitude difference among evaluated groups.
