A representação social das mães e profissionais de saúde que cuidam do recém-nascido hospitalizado e a relação dos profissionais com estas mães / The social representation of the mothers and the health care professionals that assist hospitalized newborns and the relationship of these professionals with the mentioned mothers

RESUMO

A mulher que leva em seu ventre uma vida formula vários sonhos e expectativas sobre o bebê. Após o nascimento e a notícia de que seu filho ficará hospitalizado, ocorre uma frustração devido à quebra do vínculo mãe-filho. A partir disso, se estruturou este estudo, de natureza qualitativa, que reflete a representação social das mães e profissionais de saúde que atendem recém-nascidos hospitalizados e a relação dos profissionais com estas mães; buscou identificar os sentimentos destas mães, sobre a evolução de seus filhos e reconstrução da relação entre ambos e como os profissionais de saúde se comportam diante das reações dessas mulheres. A enfermaria neonatal da Pediatria do Hospital Universitário da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora foi o cenário. Utilizaram-se entrevistas semiestruturadas, os sujeitos foram mães e profissionais de saúde. As representações expressas pelas mães e profissionais configuraram as categorias a tristeza e o medo; comunicação e prática educativa fazem diferença na visão das mães; a relação de ajuda e atenção na assistência à mãe; o trabalho requer cuidado e atenção; receptividade, culpa e rejeição desafiam o relacionamento entre profissionais e mães; a convivência entre tecnologia e humanização. Concluiu-se que, com a hospitalização do recém-nascido,há uma ruptura súbita entre o idealizado e a realidade, provocando na mãe sentimentos que interferem no relacionamento com o mundo. Saber acolher as mães, reconhecer seus sentimentos e reações é fundamental, e cabe aos profissionais, utilizando suas competências técnico-científicas, estabelecer condições para a relação mãe-filho, para amenizar os possíveis prejuízos para a mulher e a criança.

ABSTRACT

The woman that carries in her womb a new life creates many dreams and expectations towards the baby. After the birth and the news that her child is going to be hospitalized, there is frustration because of rupture of the mother-child bond. Based on that, a qualitative study has been organized, reflecting the social representation of both mothers and health care professionals that assist hospitalized newborns, and the relationship of these professionals with the mentioned mothers we aimed to identify these mothers' feelings about their children's development and the reconstruction of the relationship between both of them, and also how the health care professionals behave when facing those women's reactions. The neonatal nursery of the UFJF'S Hospital Universitário Pediatric wingwas the chosen background. Semi-structured interviews were used and the subjects were mothers and health care professionals. The representations expressed by mothers and professionals included the following categories sadness and fear; communication and educational practice make a difference on how the mothers look at the situation; help attention related to the assistance provided to mothers; the work requires care and awareness; receptivity, blame and rejection challenge the relationship between professionals and mothers; the association of technology and humanization. We concluded that, with the hospitalization of the newborn baby, there is a sudden rupture between the ideal situation and reality, causing in the mother feelings that will interfere with her relationship with the world. To know how to embrace the mothers, recognize their feelings and reactions is essential, and it is the professional's role, by using their scientific and practical knowledge, to create proper conditions to this mother-child relation, hoping to diminish possible damage to the woman and the child.
