Intervención educativa sobre conocimientos del uso de los anticonceptivos / Educative intervention about students’ knowledge regarding contraceptive methods

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio pre experimental de intervención del tipo antes y después a los jóvenes de la carrera de Tecnologías de la Salud del municipio de Morón en el período comprendido entre septiembre del año 2006 a septiembre del año 2007 con el objetivo de elevar el nivel de conocimiento sobre el uso de los métodos anticonceptivos. El universo del estudio estuvo constituido por 256 estudiantes de primer año de las Tecnologías de la Salud. Se aplicó una encuesta al inicio de la investigación obteniéndose un diagnóstico previo donde se detectaron las necesidades educativas sobre el tema y se implementó la intervención educativa. Se evaluó el impacto final de la misma, los datos se recogieron y determinaron según la clasificación de las variables. Al distribuir los estudiantes encuestados al inicio del estudio sobre el nivel de información que poseían acerca del uso de los anticonceptivos, se encontró que el 53.5 por ciento obtuvo evaluaciones de mal seguido por la categoría de regular con un 31.6 por ciento. La intervención educativa basada en actividades teóricas y prácticas y apoyada por medios de enseñanzas elevó el nivel de conocimiento sobre el uso de métodos anticonceptivos en los jóvenes.

ABSTRACT

A pre- experimental- intervention- before and after study was realised to the young people of the carrier of Health Technologies of Morón municipality in the period from September/2006 to September/2007 with the aim of elevating their knowledge on the use of the contraceptive methods. The universe of the study was constituted by 256 students of first year of Health Technologies. A survey was applied at the beginning of the investigation to obtain a previous diagnosis and the educative needs were detected on this topic and the educative intervention was implemented, by means of teaching aids. Its final impact was evaluated; the data was compiled and determined according to the variables classification. Finally the content was expressed in frequency distribution tables and piecharts, applying number and percentage. When distributing the students surveyed at the beginning of the study on the knowledge they had about the use of contraceptives, it was checked that the 53,5 percent of those who answered the survey got poor marks, followed by a group of 31,6 percent, whose marks were average. Many are the contraceptive methods on which the Cuban young people count, but little is known about them and this was verified with the obtained results. The educative intervention based on theoretical and practical activities and supported by teaching aids, increased young people knowledge on the use of contraceptive methods.
