ABSTRACT
An analytic and cross-sectional study was carried out to propose a therapeutic protocol based on digitopuncture and massage in 30 patients with hypertension who attended the Service of Natural and Traditional Medicine of the Calixto García Clinical Surgical University Hospital of Havana city in the period of September-October, 2006. The following variables were taken into account age, sex, occupation, clinical course of the disease, clinical manifestations, systolic and diastolic pressure before and after applying the traditional and natural method used, as well as conventional treatment habitually followed by those affected. A decrease of the mean systolic pressure was obtained that descended from 192,2 mm Hg to 121,3; and of the mean diastolic pressure that decreased from 116,3 mm Hg to 82,7, so that the effectiveness of the protocol of natural and traditional medicine used was evidenced for the treatment of the crises of hypertension.
