Características de la cefalea en un grupo de niños con coeficiente de inteligencia entre 90-60 / Migraine characteristic in a group of children with intelligence coefficient between 90-60

RESUMEN

INTRODUCCIÓN: la cefalea y otros dolores crónicos resultan frecuentes y refractarios al tratamiento médico en pacientes que tienen inteligencias normales bajas, limítrofes y retardo mental leve. Resulta interesante realizar una caracterización exploratoria de estos niños en cuanto al tipo de dolor de cabeza, su rendimiento académico y su funcionamiento social, tanto a nivel familiar como escolar que pueden resultarles hostiles, enmascarando cuadros comportamentales y dolores crónicos. METODOLOGÍA: evaluamos 20 pacientes de La Fundación Liga Central Contra La Epilepsia (LICCE) con coeficiente intelectual entre 60 y 90, quienes consultaron por dificultades de aprendizaje y con confirmación de cefalea. RESULTADOS: estudiamos 20 pacientes con una edad media de 10 años, predominando los varones, el grado escolar quinto de primaria, cefalea mayor de 1 año del tipo migraña con aura, inteligencia limite; la mayoría descritos como inquietos mentirosos, oposicionales y desafiantes. La comorbilidad ansiedad, con familias con comportamientos depresivos DISCUSIÓN: este proyecto exploratorio, mostró que la asociación de cefalea con ansiedad y depresión esta mediada por la deficiencia intelectual. La mayoría de estos niños tenían síntomas depresivos y ansiosos por más de un año. Resalta el hecho de que la familia no lo considero una razón para consultar. Se preocuparon más por el bajo rendimiento. CONCLUSIÓN: en la población estudiada, la deficiencia cognitiva es un factor de vulnerabilidad muy activo en la aparición de cefalea, razón por la cual es recomendable tenerla en cuenta al estudiar niños con bajo rendimiento escolar.

ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: the migraine and other chronic headaches are frequent and refractory to the medical treatment in patients that have normal low intelligence, bordering intelligence and mental mild retardation light retard. It is interesting to carry out an exploratory characterization of these children as for the headache type, their academic achievement and their social operation so much at family level as student that you/they can be them hostile masking squares behaviors and chronic pains. METHODOLOGY: we evaluate 20 patients of La Fundación Liga Central Contra la Epilepsia (LICCE) with intellectual coefficient between 60 and 90 who consulted for learning difficulties and with migraine confirmation. RESULTS: we study 20 patients with a 10 year-old half age, prevailing the males, the grade school fifth of primary, migraine bigger than 1 year of the type migraine with aura, intelligence bordering; most described as restless liars, and oppositional and defiant. The comorbidity with in anxiety families with depressive behaviors. DISCUSSION: this exploratory project, showed that the migraine association with anxiety and depression this half-filled one for the intellectual problems. Most of these children had depressive and anxious symptoms for more than one year. The most relevant issue is that the family doesn’t consider it a reason to consult. They worried more about the learning difficulties. CONCLUSION: the intelligence problem is a very active vulnerability factor in the migraine, reason for which is advisable to have it in all when studying children with school low yield and with migraine.
