Formação inicial em Educação Física no Brasil: trajetória dos cursos presenciais de 2000 a 2006 / Initial formation in Physical Education in Brazil: journey of presential courses from 2000 to 2006

RESUMO

O objetivo do estudo foi analisar a trajetória dos cursos de Educação Física no Brasil, no período compreendido entre os anos de 2000 a 2006, considerando a organização acadêmica, região geográfica e número de ingressantes e concluintes. Na operacionalização do estudo foram utilizados os dados do Censo da Educação Superior INEP/MEC, divulgados em 2008. Os resultados mostraram que em 2006 havia 746 cursos, sendo 63,3% ofertados pelas IES privadas. Nos anos iniciais do século XXI observou-seque a oferta de cursos de licenciatura ainda predomina na área, porém há um aumento considerável do número de cursos de bacharelado, principalmente nas IES privadas, bem como a tendência de equilíbrio no número de concluintes em ambos os cursos. De modo geral, constatou-se que a formação inicial em Educação Física tem passado por constantes transformações, partindo de uma formação generalista a uma formação específica, habilitando os profissionais para ocupar diferentes postos de intervenção no mercado de trabalho.

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to analyze the journey of the graduation courses of Physical Education in Brazil in period between the years from 2000 to 2006, considering the academic organization, geographic regionand number of beginners and concluders. In the development of the study it was used data from College Educational Cense INEP/MEC, spread in 2008. The results showed that in 2006 there were 746 courses, 63,3% offered by particular institutions. In the initial years of the twenty-first century it was observed that the offer of teaching courses still predominates in the area, however there is an increase of the number of courses of bachelor, mainly in the particular ones, as well as the vulnerability for balance in the number of concluders in both courses. In general, it was noticed that the initial formation in Physical Education has been through constant changes, coming from generalist formation to specific formation, turning capable the professional to occupy different places for intervention in the professional market.
