RESUMO

Este trabalho quer discutir os limites e as possibilidades das proposições teóricas que apresentam o lazer enquanto um fenômeno moderno. Mais particularmente, o objetivo aqui é identificar as fontes intelectuais de tais teorias, as concepções majoritárias em que se registra o emprego dos conceitos de modernidade ou de sociedade moderna, bem como as suas respectivas implicações para os estudos do lazer, especialmente no âmbito de pesquisas históricas, mais especificamente.

ABSTRACT

This work wants to argue the limits and the possibilities of the theoretical proposals that present the leisure while a modern phenomenon. More particularly, the objective is to identify the intellectual sources of such theories, the mains conceptions where if the job of the concepts of modernity or modern society registers there, as well as its respective implications for the studies of the leisure, especially in the scope of historical research, more specifically.
