Recursos econômicos e atividades físicas de idosos de Florianópolis, SC / Economical resources and physical activities of aged of Florianopolis, SC

RESUMO

O objetivo deste estudo foi relacionar os níveis de atividade física e os recursos econômicos (renda mensal e per capita) dos idosos residentes na área insular e continental do município de Florianópolis/SC. A amostra foi composta por 584 idosos - 292 homens e 292 mulheres. Os instrumentos utilizados foram questionário BOAS (sessões I e VI) e o Questionário Internacional de Atividade Física (IPAQ, versão longa). Utilizou-se estatística descritiva e testes não paramétricos, sendo p<=0,05. A renda mensal média dos idosos (9,6 salários) foi quase o dobro que a renda mensal per capita familiar (5,1 salários). Houve diferença significativa na associação entre a renda mensal e per capita com as áreas residenciais (p<=0,05). Em relação à atividade física foram classificados como mais ativos 63,4% no continente e 59,2% na área insular. Não foi observado diferença estatisticamente significativa (p<=0,05) entre os níveis de atividade física e o nível econômico (renda mensal e per capita).

ABSTRACT

The objective of this study was to relate the levels of physical activity and the economical resources (monthly income and income per capita) of the elderly living in the insular and continental area of Florianopolis municipality. The sample was composed by 584 elder (292 men and 292 women). The instruments used were BOAS questionnaire (sections I and VI) and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ, long version). It was used descriptive statistics and non-parametric tests, being p<=0,05. The results point out that the average monthly income of the elder (9,6 monthly minimum wage) was almost two times the family monthly per capita income (5,1 monthly minimum wage). There was significant difference in the association between the monthly and per capita income within the residential areas (p<=0,05). Related to the physical activities, it was classified as more active 63,4% in the continent and 59,2% in the insular area. It was not detected significant statistical difference (p<=0,05) between the levels of physical activity and the economical resources (monthly and per capita income).
