Método e ética: fundamentos indissociáveis no contexto da prática científica / Method and ethics: indissoluble fundamentals of the scientific practice context

RESUMO

A necessidade de garantir a integridade dos participantes das pesquisas biomédicas envolvendo seres humanos reforça o vínculo indissociável entre ética e delineamento dos estudos. Existem requisitos éticos e científicos fundamentais que devem ser observados no contexto da prática científica para defender a segurança dos participantes e reforçar princípios de equidade, responsabilidade e respeito. Justamente por isso, os aspectos metodológicos nos estudos biomédicos são baseados em diretrizes éticas internacionais utilizadas como referência para subsidiar a realização dessas pesquisas. A partir dessa concepção, fica evidente a importância que assume a capacitação dos pesquisadores e sua aproximação precoce à cultura de direitos humanos. No cenário brasileiro, a Resolução CNS 196/1996, que regulamenta a prática de pesquisa no país, indica claramente a estreita ligação existente entre a análise metodológica e ética que deve ser adotada no processo de revisão ética dos protocolos de pesquisa submetidos para análise em um comitê de ética em pesquisa (CEP).

ABSTRACT

Ensuring integrity of biomedical research involving human subjects reinforces the indissoluble link between ethics and studies design. There are ethical and scientific requirements that must be observed in the context of the scientific practice to defend participants' security and to reinforce the principles of equity, responsibility and respect. Because of that, methodological aspects of biomedical studies are included in the text of the international ethical guidelines used as a reference to support the conduction of those researches. According this conception, it is evident the relevance of the training process of young scientists and their early approach to the culture of the human rights. In the Brazilian scenery, the Resolution CNS 196/1996, that regulates the practice of research in the country, clearly indicates the narrow link existing between the methodological analysis and ethics that must be adopted in the ethical review process of the research protocols submitted for analysis by a research ethics committee (CEP).
