Dor pós-operatória em dentes com infecções endodônticas secundárias: revisão sistemática / Post treatment pain in teeth with secondary endodontic infections: systematic review

RESUMO

Verificou-se em estudos longitudinais a dor após o tratamento de dentes com infecções endodônticas secundárias, através de revisão sistemática. Utilizou-se de fontes de catalogação bibliográfica identificadas eletronicamente por Medline (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/PubMed), a partir de 1966 até 23 de Fevereiro de 2007. Como estratégia de busca empregou-se os termos - endodontic(s) and pulpal pain, endodontic(s) and periapical pain, endodontic(s) and symptom, endodontic(s) and flare-ups, endodontic(s) pain and post-treatment, endodontic(s) and inter-appointment / interappointment. Os índices de sucessos clínicos dos trabalhos analisados sinalizaram que nas infecções secundárias após os retratamentos endodônticos houve ausência de dor pós-operatória em elevados percentuais.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this work was to evaluate longitudinal studies about the post endodontic pain treatment with secondary infection, using a systematic review. A Medline search strategy was developed to identify articles using the following uniterms: endodontic(s) and pulpal pain, endodontic(s) and periapical pain, endodontic(s) and symptom, endodontic(s) and flare-ups, endodontic(s) pain and post-treatment, endodontic(s) and inter-appointment / interappointment. The search included articles from the Medline (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/PubMed), from 1966 to February-23 of 2007. Considering the exiting estimative of analyzed studies, it could be observed evidence about the higher rate of absence of pos-treatment pain.
