Avaliação dos conhecimentos sobre saúde bucal referidos por parturientes do Hospital Luterano - ULBRA / Evaluation of knowledge about oral health reffered by the patientsof Lutheran Hospital – ULBRA

RESUMO

O conceito de Promoção de Saúde é compreendido como o processo de capacitação de indivíduosou comunidades a aumentar seu controle sobre os determinantes da saúde. Ao se proporem ações deatenção primária ao núcleo familiar que está gerando um novo indivíduo, é fundamental que seja definido o nível de conhecimento acerca das medidas a serem implementadas. Sob essas diretrizes, oobjetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar o conhecimento sobre saúde bucal referido por parturientes doHospital Luterano da ULBRA, em Porto Alegre-RS. A pesquisa envolveu 20 parturientes que responderam a um questionário relativo a conhecimentos e práticas em saúde bucal. Os resultados demons-traram que a orientação sobre saúde bucal recebida durante a gestação foi deficiente. Concluiu-sepela necessidade de uma maior atuação interdisciplinar entre cirurgiões-dentistas e médicos no acom-panhamento da gestante, de forma a garantir a inserção dessa nas ações de promoção de saúde bucal de seus filhos.

ABSTRACT

The concept of Health Promotion is understood like a process of capability of individuals or communities to increase their control over the determinates of health. To propose actions of primaryatencion to familiar nucleus witch is producing a new individual, is fundamental that be defined the level of knowledge about the steps to be implemented. Under these directives, the aim of the present study wasthus to evaluate knowledge about oral health reffered by the patients of Lutheran Hospital-ULBRA. Thestudy involved 20 patients who answered a questionnaire that included questions relating to knowledgeand practices in oral health. The results show that the orientation about oral health was reduced,promoting a unknowledge related this questions. The study concluded that there is a need for greaterinter-disciplinary cooperation between dentists and doctors in the follow-up of pregnant woman, so asto ensure the insertiont of these women in actions of health promotion of their children.
