Corpo-mercadoria, sob controle e punição: prenúncios de uma subjetividade aniquilada / The body as a commercial object, controlled and punished: forebodings for an annihilated subjectivity

RESUMO

O objetivo desta pesquisa foi, primeiramente, localizar o processo degenerativo do ser-homem ao longo da história a partir de um resgate das concepções e valores depositados no corpo em diferentes sociedades e períodos históricos, tendo como base uma visão histórico-dialética do homem. Por conseguinte, visou uma compreensão acerca do corpo humano, hipercotado, mas, contraditoriamente, tão violentado na contemporaneidade. Para tanto, utilizamos o método pesquisa bibliográfica e uma fundamentação pautada na Teoria Crítica da Escola de Frankfurt amalgamada à teoria psicanalítica. Neste artigo significativas conclusões puderam ser alcançadas, entre elas a identificação de uma importante conseqüência histórica a perda de uma concepção de corpo integrado à mente, e uma negação da totalidade humana, que vem permitindo um uso perverso do corpo em prol da manutenção do sistema socioeconômico vigente. Identificou-se ainda a base ideológica que vem sustentando o conceito de saúde, já que ?parecer bem? determina o ?estar-bem", e neste movimento a dor passa a ser valorizada e normatizada como imperativo para alcançar a imagem desejada. Assim se reconfigura a concepção de dor! Práticas de modificação corporal seriam um reflexo deste contexto, ou seja, de uma cultura que, ao invés de amparar o indivíduo, parece estar jogando-o na mortificação do sentimento de culpabilidade e na autopunição. Contudo, acredita-se que esta violenta situação que se impõe ao homem na contemporaneidade não determinará sua ação transformadora da cultura em que vive. ABSTRACT

Foregrounded on the historical and dialectic aspect of the human being, the degenerative process of being-a-person throughout history is pinpointed through a recovery of concepts and values which endowed the body in different societies and in different historical periods. Current research aims at understanding the contemporary highly valued and, paradoxically, terribly violated, body. Methodology comprises bibliographical research and principles taken from the Frankfurt School?s Critical Theory, coupled to Psychoanalytic Theory. Important conclusions may be reached, or rather, the identification of an important historical consequence the loss of the concept of the body integrated to the mind, a denial of human totality, which allows a vicious use of the body for the maintenance of current social and economical system. The ideological basis has been identified which gives support to an idea of health by which ?seeming well? determines ?being well?. Pain is valued and naturalized so that the desired image may be achieved. Since the concept of pain acquires new forms, body changes are a symptom of a culture that, instead of helping individuals, seems to involve them within a feeling of culpability and self-punishment. However, the violent situation which people currently experience will not determine the transforming role of culture in which they live.
