Irrupção ectópica dos primeiros molares permanentes: considerações acadêmicas de interesse ortodôntico / Ectopic eruption of the permanent first molars: academic and orthodontic aspects

RESUMO

O artigo retoma a discussão a respeito da irrupção ectópica do primeiro molar permanente, fenômeno predominantemente maxilar, e se propõe a fazer um levantamento abrangente da literatura sobre suas peculiaridades, bem como encorajar o seu tratamento a partir do primeiro período transitório da dentadura mista. Como ilustração o texto traz a baila o diagnóstico da irrupção ectópica do primeiro molar permanente inferior, manifestação menos notada do fenômeno, e a aplicação de uma mola adaptada em aparelho removível para tratamento do problema no arco dentário superior.

RESUMEN

The purposes of this article are to describe the ectopic eruption of the permanent first molars, which usually happens in the maxillary arch, to present the studies that report on the characteristics of the problem and to encourage its treatment since the first transitional period of the mixed dentition. the article also presents the diagnosis of the ectopic eruption ofthe mandibular permanent molar, which is less ,frequent, and the application of a removable coil-spring to treat the problem in the maxillary arch.
