ABSTRACT
Among the various aspects that can cause failures in fixed partial dentures in the anterior regions, the fracture of the abutment teeth, is considered as the serious one, because, in the majority cases, become impossible the replacement of this prosthesis. Occlusal functional aspects static and dynamics are inserts in this context as one of the principal etiologic factors, that, when associate to secondary factors, with abutment teeth nonvital, incorrect use of prosthetics posts and cores, parafunction, and others, increase the possibility of fractures. Therefore, the aim of this article was to value with the presence of this etiologic factors, principals as much secondary, might interfere in final prognostic of this prosthesis, like this, propose observation methods in order to decrease the incidence of these failures.
