RESUMO

Após breve reflexão sobre os sentidos do olhar para a construção do conhecimento, teço considerações sobre o uso da máquina fotográfica na pesquisa em psicologia social do trabalho. Parto da ideia de que a construção de conhecimento é um processo de construção de visibilidades expressas tanto pela própria fotografia, como por palavras. A máquina fotográfica funcionou como mediação entre pesquisadora e pesquisados, na qual a promessa de fixação da imagem abriu espaços que potencializaram meu conhecimento dos valores sociais que sustentam a feira livre, das feições dos processos que a organizam, notadamente a sua organização em rede, e da estreita relação entre trabalho, arte e sociabilidade.

ABSTRACT

After briefly considering the roles of looking in knowledge building, I examine the photographic camera use in research in social psychology of work. I start from the idea that knowledge building is a process of building visibilities expressed both in photography and in words. The camera acted as a mediator between the researcher and her subjects, and its promise of fixation opened paths to enhance my knowledge of the social values underlying the open-air market, the features of its organization processes, especially its network structure, and the close relationship of work, art and sociability.
