Cuba, Iberoamérica y la producción científica en salud en la base de datos PubMed en el período 1999-2008 / Cuba, Ibero-America and the scientific production in health sphre in the PubMed data base from 1999 to 2008

RESUMEN

Con el objetivo de analizar y caracterizar la producción científica en salud, tanto de Cuba como de un conjunto de países de Iberoamérica, se determinó en la base de datos PubMed, el total de la producción aportada por cada país; así como el por ciento de ella publicada en revistas nacionales y en idioma inglés. En el caso de Cuba, además, se realizó un análisis cuanti-cualitativo de la evolución, estado actual y perspectivas futuras de su producción científica en la referida base de datos.

ABSTRACT

Aiming to analyze and characterize the scientific production in Cuba as well as another Iberoamerican countries, the total production done by each country was determined in the PubMed database, as well as the percentage published in each national journal and in the English language. In the case of Cuba, a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the evolution was also done, also the nowadays state and the future perspectives of the scientific production in the stated database.
