RESUMEN
La lepra es una enfermedad granulomatosa de evolución crónica, infecciosa, poco contagiosa, producida por el Micobacterium Leprae, que se caracteriza por lesiones cutáneas y de los nervios periféricos; además puede afectar otras estructuras, como mucosas de las vías respiratorias, ojos, músculos, hígado, testículos, etc. La Lepra Lepromatosa es la forma maligna de la enfermedad. Su diagnóstico tardío hace que el paciente presente discapacidades irreversibles. Presentamos un caso de una paciente con Lepra, de 8 años de evolución, con una discapacidad grado II, que le imposibilita una buena calidad de vida.
ABSTRACT
The leprosy is a granulomatous disease of chronic, infectious evolution, little contagious, produced by the Micobacterium Leprae, that is characterized by cutaneous injuries and of the peripheral nerves; in addition it can affect other structures, such as mucous of the respiratory tract, eyes, muscles, liver, testicles, etc. The Lepromatous Leprosy is the malignant form of the disease (1). Its delayed diagnosis brings about irreversible incapacities for the patient (1-2). A case of a patient with Leprosy of 8 years of evolution is presented, with a disability degree II, that disables a good quality of life.
