Dilemas éticos de la investigación clínica / Ethical dilemmas in clinical research

RESUMEN

Las investigaciones en seres humanos son un resultado natural de la evolución de las ciencias médicas exponiendo a los investigadores a enormes dilemas éticos derivados de esta práctica. En este trabajo se exponen algunos datos de la historia de la investigación científica y algunos de los grandes problemas éticos suscitados por los procedimientos de investigación utilizados. Se formulan los principios éticos fundamentales que se han ido explicitando a lo largo del pasado siglo en torno a la obligatoriedad de respetar la libertad y la dignidad de las personas humanas involucradas en las investigaciones.

ABSTRACT

The investigations in human beings are a natural result of the evolution of medical sciences putting the researchers at risk because of the enormous ethical dilemmas derived from this practice. In this work certain data of the history of the scientific research and some of the great ethical problems caused by the used procedures of investigation are exposed. The fundamental ethical principles that have been explained throughout the past century regarding the obligatory nature to respect the freedom and the dignity of the people involved in investigations are formulated.
