Comparação estética entre coroasconfeccionadas com os sistemas Cubo emetalocerâmico / Aesthetic comparison between crowns madewith Cubo and metal-ceramic systems

RESUMO

Introdução e objetivo: O objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar a influênciade diferentes materiais usados na confecção de infraestruturas noresultado estético de restaurações com recobrimento cerâmico.Material e métodos: Foi selecionado um paciente que necessitava decoroa protética unitária nos incisivos centrais superiores, sendo umaconvencional (elemento 11) e outra sobre implante (elemento 21).Para cada elemento dentário, uma coroa livre de metal (sistema Cubo)e uma metalocerâmica (MC) foram confeccionadas e submetidas a avaliação cega por 11 cirurgiões-dentistas. Para isso, os profissionaisresponderam a um questionário sobre proporções de opacidade etranslucidez das coroas na cavidade bucal do paciente, e cada respostacorrespondia a uma pontuação. Os dados obtidos foram submetidosao teste de Wilcoxon (? = 0,05). Resultados: Não houve diferençaestatisticamente significante entre as coroas metalocerâmicas e asdo sistema Cubo (elemento 11: p = 0,107; elemento 21: p = 0,739).A análise dos escores ainda evidenciou que para um mesmo tipo deinfraestrutura não se observou diferença estatisticamente significanteentre os elementos 11 e 21 (Cubo: p = 0,206; MC: p = 0,102).Conclusão: Dentro das limitações do presente estudo, foi possívelconcluir que, de acordo com a percepção visual dos avaliadores, ascoroas protéticas confeccionadas com infraestrutura metálica e cominfraestrutura cerâmica se apresentaram esteticamente semelhantes esatisfatórias.

ABSTRACT

Introduction and objective: The objective of this study was to verify theinfluence of different materials used in the construction of infrastructureson the aesthetic result of restorations with ceramic coating. Materialand methods: A patient that needed a single prosthetic crown on themaxillary central incisors was selected for treatment, one in the rightmaxillary central incisor (11) and another in the dental implant (21).Metal-free (Cubo system) and metal-ceramic (MC) crowns were made foreach tooth and submitted to blind review by 11 dentists, who answereda questionnaire about ratios of opacity and translucency of the crownsin the oral cavity of the patient, where each answer corresponded to onescore. Data was submitted to Wilcoxon test (? = 0.05). Results: Therewas no significant statistical difference between the metal-ceramic andCubo system crowns (11: p = 0.107; 21: p = 0.739). The analysis ofthe scores also showed that for the same type of infrastructure therewas no significant statistical difference between 11 and 21 (Cubo: p =0.206; MC: p = 0.102). Conclusion: Within the limits of this study, itwas concluded that, according to the visual perception of the evaluators,prosthetic crowns made with metal infrastructure and with ceramicinfrastructure showed to be aesthetically similar and satisfactory.
