RESUMO

Introdução:

A Síndrome de Gorlin-Goltz, também conhecida comoSíndrome do Carcinoma Basocelular Nevoide, é um transtornohereditário autossômico dominante que se caracteriza pela presençade ceratocistos múltiplos nos maxilares e carcinomas basocelulares,além de alterações musculoesqueléticas, neurológicas, dermatológicase endócrinas. Relato de caso O presente trabalho relata o casode um paciente de 15 anos de idade, atendido na Faculdade deOdontologia da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (RS), queapresentava ceratocistos múltiplos nos ossos maxilares, os quais foramremovidos cirurgicamente em várias etapas. O paciente encontra-se emproservação de 48 meses, incluindo avaliações clínicas e radiográficas.

Conclusão:

Conclui-se que acompanhamento periódico e sistemáticopode evitar consequências danosas ao paciente.
ABSTRACT

Introduction:

The Gorlin-Goltz Syndrome, also known as Nevoid BasalCell Carcinoma Syndrome, is a dominant autosomal hereditary disorderwhich is characterized by the presence of multiple jaw keratocystsand basal cell carcinomas, besides musculoskeletal, neurological,dermatological and endocrine abnormalities. Case report This paperreports the case of a fifteen-year-old patient who was referred to theFaculty of Dentistry of the Federal University of Santa Maria (RS, Brazil)and presented multiple jaw keratocysts, which were surgically removedin several steps. The patient is under observation for 48 months,including clinical and radiographic evaluations.

Conclusion:

It can beconcluded that systematic and regular monitoring may avoid possibleharmful consequences to the patient.
