Relación entre ambliopía refractiva media y alta y grado de estereopsis medida con el test de Randot / Relationship between medium and high refractive amblyopia and stereopsis as measured with the Randot test

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo para determinar el grado de estereopsis por medio del test de Randot en una muestra de pacientes entre 5 y 12 años con ambliopía refractiva media y alta que fueron atendidos en el Instituto de Investigaciones Optométricas de la Universidad de La Salle, además para probar la hipótesis se realizó una revisión retrospectiva de historias de pacientes que asistieron a las unidades de ortóptica y pediatría del I.I.O., entre los años 2.002 y 2.004. Para fines de la investigación se utilizarán dos herramientas estadísticas Prueba de Hipótesis y Regresión Lineal. Para realizar el contraste de hipótesis se utilizo una Distribución T–Student.Se encontró que en pacientes con ambliopía baja el valor promedio de la estereopsis en segundos de arco es 36.153 considerado normal, en pacientes con ambliopía media y alta aumenta situándose alrededor de 62.916 segundos de arco. En pacientes con ambliopía monocular el valor de estereopsis es más bajo que en pacientes con ambliopía binocular.

ABSTRACT

It was made an descriptive study in order to determine the stereopsis degree measured by the Randot test in a sample of children betwen five and twelve years with medium and high refractive amblyopia assessed at La Salle’s Optometric Research Institute, and in order to prove the hipothesys ir was made an retrospective research of the history of patients assessed at the orthoptic and pediatric department between 2002 and 2004. For research purposes there will be used two estadistic tools hipothesys prove and linesl regression. For the contrast of the hipothesys it was used a T-student distribution.It was found that in patients with low amblyopia the promedio value of stereopsis in seconds of arc is 36,153 wich is a normal value, on other hand in patients with medium and high amblyopia the stereopsis value increases to 62,916 seconds of arc. In monocular amblyopia patients stereopsis value is lower than in patients with binocular amblyopia.
