ABSTRACT
This dissertation analyses the female transsexual population in its specific issues relating to healthcare, throughout the Brazilian public health system, in concert with the federal government’s public policies, introduced since 2004, intended to be inclusive. This analysis is based upon the current Latin-American Bioethics approach – also known as “Bioethics of Protection” – and by the proposal of welcoming, “with noexception” all of those considered vulnerable actors. The method employed here is that of the critical conceptual and theoretical analysis, successively focused on the categoriesof “vulnerability”, “susceptibility” and “injury”.
