Estudo da prevalência de fissuras lábio-palatais no município de Primeira Cruz – Estado do Maranhão / Study of the prevalence of cleft lip and/or palate in Primeira Cruz City – State of Maranhão

RESUMO

Pesquisa sobre a prevalência de fissuras lábio-palatais nos indivíduos do município de Primeira Cruz, Estado do Maranhão. Apresentou-se o levantamento de todos os portadores de fissuras lábio-palatais do município, através de informações dos habitantes locais e Agentes de Saúde com o objetivo de detectar a frequência dos tipos de fissuras encontradas, sua localização e possíveis diferenças entre os sexos. Observou-se através de exame visual direto que 18 pacientes eram portadores dessa anomalia, correspondendo a 1,63 por mil habitantes, dos quais 14 (0,24%) eram do sexo masculino e 4 (0,08%) do sexo feminino. Em relação aos tipos de fissuras constatou-se que 44,44% dos pacientes apresentaram fissura pré-forame incisivo; 38,89% fissura transforame incisivo e 16,67% fissura pós-forame incisivo. Quanto à lateralidade encontrou-se 66,67% de fissura unilateral esquerda, 20% de fissura unilateral direita e 13,33% de fissura bilateral.

ABSTRACT

Research about the prevalence of clefts lip and/or palate in individuals from Primeira Cruz, State of Maranhão. It was presented the researching of all carriers of cleft lip and/or palate of the city, through informations of the local inhabitants and Health Agents with the objective of detecting the frequency of the cleft’s types found, its localizations and study the possible differences between the sexes. It was observed through direct visual exam that 18 patients were carriers of this anomaly, corresponding to 1,63 for thousand inhabitants, from which 14 (0,24%) were male and 4 (0,08%) female. In relation to the cleft’s types it was verified that 44,44% of the patients showed pre-foramen incisor cleft, 38,89% transforamen incisor cleft and 16,67% post-foramen incisor cleft. About the laterality it was found 66,67% of unilateral left cleft, 20% of unilateral right cleft and 13,33% of bilateral cleft.
