RESUMO

O título do relatório da Organização Mundial de Saúde de 2002 “Diminuindo Riscos, Promovendo Vida Saudável” estimulou a realização deste artigo. Buscar-se-á problematizar os conceitos de risco e promoção da saúde e as possíveis relações entre os mesmos, apoiando-se em revisão bibliográfica, categorizada de acordo com a problematização desejada. O referido título parece sugerir uma associação, ou seja, a diminuição de riscos promovendo saúde, entretanto, será que tal relação é direta e simples? O presente artigo, ao discutir conceitualmente risco e promoção da saúde buscará aproximar-se das respostas desta e de outras questões intrínsecas a este assunto.

ABSTRACT

The title of World Health Organization report 2002 “Reducing Risks, Promoting Healthy Life" encouraged the production of this article. It will seek to render problematic the risk concept and health promotion concept and the possible links between these concepts, resting on bibliographic revision categorized according to the purposes of this work. The above mentioned title seems to suggest association, namely, the reduction of risks promoting healthy life, but, will it be truthful? This article will intend to approximate of theses questions and the others underlying to this matter, examining the concepts of risk and health promotion.
