As seis espécies mais importantes (Richeria grandis, Xylopia emarginata, Protium heptaphyllum, Calophyllum brasiliense, Ferdinandusa speciosa e Tapirira guianensis) perfazem 75,88% do IVI.
ABSTRACT
This study was done in a flloded Gallery Forest, located in Uberlândia, MG, Brazil. It is an área of open savannahs and the Gallery Forest is located in a small valley. The phytosociological survey was done in 62 10m x 10m plots along five paralledl transects 50 m apart one from the other and extended from the edge of the forest until they reached the drainage line. All the live trees with circumference at breast height (CBH) > or = 15cm were recorded and their heights were estimated visually. In the survey, 2189 individuals were sampled, from 33 species and from 21 botanical families. Five species represent 75.88% of the Importance Index Value. Nevertheless they represent only 18% of the number os species. They are: Richeria grandis Vahl., Xylopia emarginata Mart., Protium heptaphyllum March; Calophyllum brasiliense Camb., Ferdinandusa speciosa Pohl. And Tapirira guianensis Aubl. All species found presented aggregated spatial distribution. The floristic diversity (Shannon-Wiener index (H) was 2.27 nats/indiv to species and 2.21 nats/indiv. to families.
