RESUMO

A reflexão sobre as metodologias de pesquisa pode contribuir para o delineamento de novos estudos. A pesquisa quantitativa tem sido abordagem de escolha da maioria dos pesquisadores da área da saúde, por sua importância ao contar e medir os fenômenos no campo do conhecimento. A abordagem qualitativa de pesquisa tem a perspectivado conhecimento designada como idealista-subjetivista, e os investigadores desse método procuram entender oprocesso pelo qual as pessoas constroem significados e os descrevem. O objetivo deste estudo é fornecer ao leitor considerações sobre os principais métodos qualitativos. Foram efetuadas entrevistas para obter dados objetivos, referentes a fontes, como censos e dados subjetivos, que se referem diretamente ao sujeito que está sendo entrevistado,como atitudes, valores e opiniões. Os grupos focais são entrevistas que valorizam o pensamento do grupo. Têm a vantagem de serem mais rápidas com possibilidade de coletar dados de diversos participantes simultaneamente. O método observacional é a melhor maneira de verificar se o que foi dito numa entrevista ou respondido em um questionário corresponde à realidade dos fatos. A técnica da análise de conteúdo é realizada com uso de sistema de codificação predefinido, que produz as frequências as quais podem ser tabuladas e analisadas por meiode técnicas de estatística. A análise do discurso tem como objetivo principal promover reflexão sobre as condições de produção e apreensão do significado dos textos. Acredita-se que as pesquisas feitas com método qualitativo no campo da saúde são extremamente estimulantes e possibilitam repensar postulados existentes.

ABSTRACT

The reflection on the research methodology can contribute to propose new studies. The quantitative research has been the choice of most investigators on the health area, such the importance is given to count and to measure the phenomena in this of the knowledge. The qualitative research is known like idealist?subjectivist and the investigators of this method try to understand the process that which person understands the world. The objective of this study is to contribute with some considerations on the qualitative methods. In the interview is possible to obtain objective data, like censuses and subjective data, which concern straightly the person that is being interviewed, how, his attitudes, values and opinions. The focal groups value the thought of the group, have the advantage to be quicker and it has the possibility to collect data of several participants simultaneously. The observational method is the best way to confirm if what was said in an interview, or answered in a questionnaire actually corresponds to the reality. The technique of the content analysis uses a kind of codification system, which produces the frequencies thatcan be tabulated and analyzed through techniques of statistic. The analysis of the speech has like main objective promotes the reflection on the conditions of production and apprehension of the meaning of the texts. Investigations with qualitative method in the health are exceptionally stimulating and become possible to think about some existent postulates.
