El estrés es una respuesta adaptativa que puede implicar cambios adversos a mediano y largo plazo. Investigaciones evidencian que el estrés en madres gestantes, puede tener diversos efectos sobre el desarrollo de los infantes. El objetivo del estudio fue describir las características cognitivas de menores cuyas madres reportan estrés durante el embarazo, como único factor de riesgo, en una población clínica de la ciudad de Bogotá. Se caracterizan los perfiles cognitivos, a partir de las evaluaciones neuropsicológicas, resaltando las puntuaciones significativas en los subtests e índices globales de la escala WISC IV. ABSTRACT

Stress is an adaptive response that may involve adverse changes in the medium and long term. Research showed that maternal stress during pregnancy may have variables effects on the offspring development. The objective of this study was to describe the cognitive characteristics of children from Bogota- Colombia, whose mothers during neuropsychological consultation, reported stress during pregnancy as the only risk factor.
