Afetar e ser afetado: corpo e cognição entre deficientes visuais / Affect and being affected: body and cognition among people with visual disabilities

RESUMO

O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar os resultados da pesquisa intervenção realizada com um grupo de jovens deficientes visuais que visa promover diferentes articulações entre corpo e cognição. Baseados na teoria ator-rede, consideramos que ter um corpo é aprender a ser afetado por atores díspares e heterogêneos, tanto humanos quanto não humanos. O trabalho de campo é realizado através de atividades de expressão corporal que têm por finalidade promover conexões, articulações entre o corpo e materiais tão heterogéneos quanto um elástico, uma lixa, uma música, um colega. As intervenções são realizadas em grupo e são negociadas e pactuadas com os sujeitos que participam da pesquisa, de tal modo que há uma relação de construção recíproca entre o pesquisador e o pesquisado. As experimentações corporais realizadas têm produzido novos modos de conhecer entre os jovens com deficiencia visual. Neste sentido, consideramos que a cognição é efeito de tais experimentações corporais, cognição coletiva, híbrida, que se produz em rede. Por esta via, somos levados a tecer considerações sobre o papel da psicologia numa instituição voltada para a educação dos deficientes visuais.

ABSTRACT

This paper presents the results of the intervention research performed with a group of visually disabled youths aimed at promoting different articulations between body and cognition. Based on the actor-network theory, we considered that to have a body means to learn how one is affected by heterogeneous and differing actors, human or non human. The field research was performed using body language aiming at promoting connections/articulations between body and materials as heterogeneous as an elastic, a nail file, a song, a classmate. Interventions were performed in group and were negotiated and agreed by the subjects of the research, so that there be a reciprocal constructive relationship between researcher and researched. The body experiences performed produced new ways of knowing amongst the visually impaired youths. Therefore, we consider that cognition be the effect of such body experiences, hybrid collective cognition, produced by the network. Thus, we elaborate about the role of psychology in an institution for the visually disabled.
