Intervención educativa sobre salud sexual en ancianos y ancianas del Centro urbano Abel Santamaría Cuadrado / Educational intervention on sexual health in elderly from the female and male sex of Abel Santamaría Cuadrado Urban Center

RESUMEN

Se realizó una intervención educativa en 25 gerontes de ambos sexos que se encontraban incorporados a los círculos de abuelos del centro urbano Abel Santamaría Cuadrado perteneciente al Policlínico Universitario Josué País García de Santiago de Cuba, desde octubre de 2005 hasta diciembre de 2006, para mejorar la salud sexual de estos pacientes. La mayoría de los ancianos tenían nociones inadecuadas al respecto antes de la acción educativa y después de esta lograron modificarlas positivamente, por lo cual se demostró la efectividad del programa de educación sexual aplicado.

ABSTRACT

An educational intervention was carried out in 25 elderly from the male and female sex who attended senior citizens clubs in Abel Santamaría Cuadrado Urban Center, belonging to Josué País García University Polyclinic in Santiago de Cuba, from October, 2005 to December, 2006, to improve the sexual health of these aged people. Most of they had inadequate knowledge in this respect before the educational action and after this they were able to modify them positively, that´s why the effectiveness of the applied program on sexual education was confirmed.
