RESUMEN
Se presenta el caso clínico de una paciente de 24 años de edad, con 34 semanas de gestación, que asistió al Hospital General Docente Dr Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso de Santiago de Cuba por haber sufrido un trauma abdominal. La ecografía reveló, en el feto: cardiomegalia, bradicardia, engrosamiento de las válvulas mitral y tricúspide, así como asimetría valvular, lo cual provocó la muerte fetal a las 37 semanas, atribuible a una miocardiopatía dilatada como causa básica, generada directamente por insuficiencia cardíaca, según hallazgos necrópsicos.
ABSTRACT
The case report of a 24 year-old patient is presented, with 34 weeks of pregnancy that visited Dr Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso Teaching General Hospital in Santiago de Cuba because she suffered an abdominal trauma. The echography revealed, in the fetus: cardiomegaly, bradycardia, thickening of the mitral and tricuspid valves, as well as valvular asymmetry, which caused the fetal death at 37 weeks, attributable to a dilated cardiomyopathy as a basic cause, directly due to heart failure, according to the findings in necropsy.
