ABSTRACT
The treatment of breast cancer allows vertiginous changes. They were obtained through an each time earlier diagnosis over noninvasive lesions or invasive lesions smaller than 5 mm, with the first confirmation of the advantages of the investigation of the sentinel node, the diffusion of the oncoplastic surgery, new guidelines of adjuvancy endocrinal or chemotherapeutical and the development of new drugs to act over the angiogenesis. Surgery is concerned with the local control of the primary tumor and metastic axillary lymph nodes. The advance over the reduction of the extent of the surgery of breast cancer doesn't stop, more evident over the axilla, here the radiotherapy can supply minimal invasion of the sentinel node, if the emptying is not completed. These circumstances, jointly to the each time more frequent oncoplastic surgery, allows a better psychophysical comfort of the patients, which today receive in a greater number, hormonal adjuvant therapy. The genetic profile of the tumor will orientate with more certainty the application of adjuvant therapies.
