Glaucoma en el embarazo / Glaucoma during pregnancy

RESUMEN

Se hace una revisión bibliográfica del glaucoma durante el embarazo, con el objetivo de describir el manejo que se tiene de dicho binomio. Se señalan elementos fisiopatológicos que posibiliten un mejor diagnóstico y tratamiento de estas pacientes, en una etapa vital de sus vidas, lo que redundará en un mejor control de su enfermedad durante la gestación, se evita el progreso de las alteraciones visuales irreversibles que el glaucoma puede provocar, sin olvidar el balance riesgo-beneficio, que la terapéutica pueda traer tanto para la madre como para su futuro bebÚ

ABSTRACT

Authors made a bibliographic review on glaucoma in pregnancy to describe the management of these two variables. Physiopathologic elements are pointed out allowing a better diagnosis and treatment of these patients during a vital stage of their life, leading to a better control of disease during pregnancy, avoiding the progression of irreversible visual alterations related to glaucoma, taking into account the risk-benefit balance that therapeutics may offer for the mother and for her future baby
