Objetivo:
Describir las manifestaciones oculares inflamatorias en pacientes con diagnóstico de espondiloartropatías seronegativas.Diseño:
Estudio descriptivo, longitudinal de serie de casos.Métodos:
A los pacientes que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión, se les realizó evaluación oftalmológica completa y revisión de historias clínicas. La información se registró en un formulario previamente creado para tal fin. Resultados yconclusiones:
La frecuencia de uveítis encontrada fue, 37.5%; el compromiso unilateral, 88.9%; y bilateral, 11.1%; no alternancia, 88.9%; recurrencia, 77.8%; uveítis anterior, 88.9%; las cataratas fueron la principal complicación, en la mayoría de pacientes la inflamación cedió de modo espontáneo, la inflamación ocular se presentó después del inicio de los síntomas sistémicos. La espondiloartropatía más frecuente fue la espondilitis anquilosante en 58.3%. En conclusión, este artículo describe la relación uveítis- spondiloartropatías como aparece en la literatura y representa el primer estudio que muestra el comportamiento de esta relación en Medellín, Colombia.ABSTRACT

In patients fulfilling inclusion criteria was carried out a complete ophthalmologic examination. The medical histories were revised. Data were registered in a previously built form. Results andconclusions:
Frequency of uveitis, 37.5%; unilateral, 88.9%; and bilateral, 11.1%; not alternating, 88.9%; recurrence, 77.8%; anterior uveitis, 88.9%; cataracts were the main complication; in most of the patients the inflammation was resolved spontaneously; ocular inflammation usually was present after the beginning of the systemic symptoms. The most frequent spondyloarthropathy was ankylosing spondylitis in 58.3%. In conclusion, this study describes the connection between uveitis and spondyloarthropathies as given in the literature and it represents the first study showing this relationship behavior in Medellín, Colombia.
