Terapia pulpar em dentes decíduos / Endodontics therapy for deciduous teeth

RESUMO

A terapia endodôntica em dentes decíduos é fundamental para a preservação do elemento dentário na arcada dentária infantil. A presente revisão de literatura tem como objetivo abordar alguns aspectos referentes ao diagnóstico e tratamento endodôntico em dentes decíduos dando ênfase aos medicamentos utilizados nas diferentes abordagens.

ABSTRACT

Endodontics therapy for deciduous teeth is extremely important for teeth maintenance in dental arcade of infants and depends on factors like level of cooperation from the patient, so that the procedures can be successful. Our study has the objective of reviwing the advantages of maintaining deciduous teeth in dental arcades and evaluate whether the medicaments used in pulpotomies solve its problems. We concluded that, on the contrary of what used to happen years ago, current techniques are safe when dental germs preservation is concerned. It has not yet been established an ideal medicament to be used in pulpotomies, and new studies are necessary.
