Seguir carreira como vendedor, de jeito nenhum: um estudo comparativo da atividade de vendedores em shoppings centers / End up my days like a seller, no way: a comparative study of the activity of sellers in shopping malls

RESUMO

O presente trabalho teve por objetivo investigar a atividade de vendedores que trabalham em shopping centers e suas implicações na saúde desses trabalhadores. Pretendeu-se, também, confrontar a visão dos vendedores de São Paulo (SP) e do Distrito Federal (DF). Utilizou-se a técnica de entrevista semi-estruturada, com a participação de 10 empregados no estudo. O tratamento dos dados foi feito por meio da Análise de Conteúdo Categorial Temática, apreendendo-se cinco categorias contratação e inserção no trabalho; características do trabalho com vendas em shoppings centers; obrigações; relações sociais de trabalho; relações fora do trabalho e expectativas futuras. Os resultados mostraram que as condições de trabalho desses profissionais são marcadas por pesadas prescrições, que se refletem em intensas pressões e ocasionam estresse e competição. Tais elementos parecem estar na origem de um sofrimento psíquico peculiar. Em muitos aspectos identificaram-se semelhanças entre os vendedores de SP e do DF, mas observou-se, no que tange a expectativas futuras, uma diferença importante enquanto os trabalhadores de SP pretendem seguir carreira no shopping, os do DF veem esse trabalho como passageiro.

ABSTRACT

This writing focuses on analyzing the activity of sellers who work in shopping malls and the way it affects their health. We also intend to compare the opinions of sellers from São Paulo and Federal District. A semi-structured interview technique was used, in which ten employees participated. The data was analyzed and combined through the Thematic Categorical Content Analysis, by taking five categories the work insertion or hiring; characteristics of the "seller" job in shopping centers; duties; social work relationships; and after work relations and future planning. The results show that these professional conditions suffer strict prescriptions, which reflect in deep pressure, resulting in stress and competition. All of these conditions seem to be in the origin of a peculiar psychic suffering. The Comparison between the two different regions allows us to identify common points between DF and SP sellers, but in terms of future expectations we can find an important difference while workers from São Paulo intend to develop their career in shopping malls sector, workers from DF (Federal District- Brasília) face their jobs as a temporary position.
