RESUMO
Este estudo tem como objetivo identificar o perfil de pacientes com úlcera por pressão num hospital do interior de São Paulo. Trata-se de um estudo transversal e descritivo, realizado no período de setembro de 2009 a fevereiro de 2010. A maioria dos pacientes que participaram da pesquisa era do sexo feminino, idade acima de 60 anos. Pela Escala Braden, 61 (49,54%) pacientes apresentaram escore de alto risco para desenvolver úlcera por pressão. Com relação ao estadiamento 181(30,62%) pacientes apresentaram úlceras estágio IV, 163(27,57%) pacientes tinham úlcera por pressão na região sacral. Os pacientes apresentaram como principais fatores de risco a ventilação mecânica e a incontinência urinária/fecal. A maioria era de alto risco para desenvolver úlcera por pressão.
ABSTRACT
This study aimed to identify the profile of patients with pressure ulcers in a hospital of the interior of São Paulo. This is a cross-sectional, descriptive study, conducted from September 2009 to February 2010. Most patients who participated in the survey were female, age over 60 years. According to Braden Scale, 61 (49.54%) patients had a score of high risk for developing pressure ulcers. Regarding the staging, 181 (30.62%) patients had stage IV ulcers, 163 (27.57%) patients had pressure ulcers in the sacral region. Patients showed, as the main risk factors, risk related to mechanical ventilation and urinary/fecal incontinence. Most were at high risk for developing pressure ulcers.
