RESUMO
O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar o perfil e a utilização dos serviços de saúde pelos homens, através de uma pesquisa de caráter transversal descritivo com abordagem quantitativa, com um grupo de saúde do homem coordenado por uma USF da zona leste da cidade de São Paulo. Fizeram parte desta pesquisa 40 homens, 70% possuíam o ensino fundamental incompleto, 92,5% não possuíam plano privado de saúde, 64% disseram ser portador de algum tipo de doença crônica, sendo que 34% procuram serviços de pronto atendimento quando estão doentes. A procura pelos serviços da atenção primária se mostra pouco atraente para homens.
ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to identify the profile and use of health services by men, through a transversal descriptive research with a quantitative approach, with a group of men s health coordinated by a Family Health Unit from the East Side of São Paulo. A total of 40 men were part of this study, 70% had incomplete primary education, 92.5% had no private health plan, 64% said they were carrying some kind of chronic disease, with 34% seeking care services when they are sick. The demand for primary care services proves unattractive to men.
