Invisalign@: tratamento ortodôntico sem bráquetes e fios / Invisalign@: orthodontic treatment without brackets and wires

RESUMO

O Objetivo deste artigo é descrever o sistema Invisalign@, com o qual é possível realizar tratamentos ortodônticos sem a utilização de bráquetes e fios como na técnica convencional fixa. A partir de um planejamento feito pelo ortodontista, obtém-se um tratamento de forma virtual em 3D, baseado neste, são confeccionados uma série de alinhadores de acetato, e o paciente utilizará cada alinhador por um período de 15 dias. São removíveis e bastante estéticos, o que motiva pacientes que jamais teriam disposição para o tratamento convencional. O sistema tem limitações, não sendo indicado para correção de todos os tipos de más oclusões, sendo necessária uma indicação precisa do ortodontista. Quando bem indicados tem mostrado resultados bastante satisfatórios como será ilustrado neste artigo.

ABSTRACT

The goal of this paper is to describe the Invisalign@ system, with which it is possible toperform orthodontic treatments without using brackets and wires, as in the conventional fixed technique. Based on a planning made by the orthodontist, it is created a virtual 3D treatment, from which a number of aligners of acetate are produced, and the patient should use them for 15 days. They are removable and very aesthetic, what motivates the patients who would never have willingness to the conventional treatment. The system has limitations and it is not used to correct ali kinds of malocclusions, requiring a precise prescription by the orthodontist. When properly prescribed it has shown satisfactory results, as will be illustrated in this paper.
