RESUMO
A cefaleia é problema de saúde mundialmente importante com prevalência significativa em serviços de urgência e emergência. Este estudo foi feito visando melhor análise da importância da queixa em serviços de urgência devido à carência de dados brasileiros que o abordem. Trata-se de estudo descritivo, a partir de revisão da literatura sobre cefaleia, em especial, sobre sua etiologia na urgência e emergência. Observa-se elevada proporção de consultas devido às cefaleias primárias, em jovens, do sexo feminino, do tipo tensional e enxaqueca, com taxa significativa de internações hospitalares.
ABSTRACT
Introduction:
Headache represent a important role in health systems in Brazil such as in others countries. Moreover, has a significant frequency in emergency services. However, there are not enough data in national literature about it, so this research was made to complement the analysis of the importance of headache in emergency service. Materials andmethods:
This is a descriptive study, which was done one review of national and international literature about the topic headache in urgency services, focusing in the etiology of the cases.Results:
Was noted high proportion of cases of primary headaches in emergency service and a significant amount of patients was admitted in services.conclusion:
The number of patients with headache attended in emergency services represents a significant part of all visits in these institutions. The majority of patients with headache are young women with migraine and tensional headache.
