ABSTRACT
Stroke is one of the leading causes of death in Brazil. Among his presentations are ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke. Both constitute an medical emergency. Among the symptoms a headache that is one of the complaints in the population should be investigated. The sudden natures of pain, intense, and some neurological signs such as ataxia and aphasia, help us to diagnose the stroke early and treat it as soon as possible to avoid sequels, or at least reduce them. The patient, male, 48 years, with no risk factors for stroke, was admitted with severe headache syndrome with cerebellar ataxia and vomiting. Evolved with hydrocephalus and deployment of external ventricular derivation.
