Psicologia e presença feminina nos discursos médico e católico na primeira metade do século XX / Psychology and female presence in medical and catholic discourses in the first half of the 20th (twentieth) century

RESUMO

Este artigo pretende analisar as interfaces da produção científica feminina no início do século XX com a constituição do espaço psi no Brasil, utilizando para tanto um artigo do periódico católico ôA Ordemõ e uma tese da Faculdade de Medicina do Rio de Janeiro. Para sermos mais precisos, nosso recorte temporal situa-se nos primeiros 40 anos do século XX, uma vez que datam desse período os primeiros trabalhos de caráter psicológico escritos por mulheres encontrados por nós, dentre as teses de Medicina e as edições da revista ôA Ordemõ consultadas. As produções da Medicina e da Igreja Católica foram eleitas como fontes privilegiadas a partir de constatações de uma pesquisa mais ampla, que demonstrou a grande importância que esses discursos - o médico e o religioso - tiveram na construção do campo da psicologia no Brasil.

ABSTRACT

This article aims at analyzing interfaces of female production in the beginning of the 20th (twentieth) century with the creation of the ôpsiõ space in Brazil, using for this purpose an article from a catholic journal ôA Ordemõ and a thesis from Rio de Janeiro School of Medicine. More precisely, our focus is the first decade of the century, since the first female productions of psychological features we had access to at the School of Medicine and the consulted editions of the journal date from this period. Medicine and Catholic Church productions were elected as privileged sources based on a deeper research that demonstrated the great importance religious and medical discourses had in the construction of the psychology field in Brazil.
