RESUMO

Objeto de ficção e de teoria tratado tanto por escritores como por psicanalistas, o mito de Narciso tem sofrido uma série de transformações. Ao descrever a projeção da imagem de si e a tentativa de confundir-se ou identificar-se com ela, os numerosos relatos vão do trágico (Ovídio) ao triunfante (Lacan). O que liga todos é − curiosamente − o conceito de fonte. O espelho está em cada história estreitamente ligado a uma origem. A maneira de interpretar essa relação determina o viés, trágico ou triunfante. Partindo de uma perspectiva derridiana, a autora mostra que não por acaso existe essa relação entre a imagem especular e o conceito de fonte.

ABSTRACT

The Narcissus myth, as an object both of fiction and of theory, and dealt with by both writers and analysts, has undergone a series of transformations. In describing the projection of one’s self imago and the attempt to mingle with it or to identify with it, the numerous tales range from the tragic (Ovid) to the triumphant (Lacan). What binds them all to one another is - strangely enough - the notion of a source. The mirror in each case is closely linked to an origin. And it is the way one interprets this relationship which separates tragedy from triumph. Starting out from Derridian perspective, we show that the relationship between the mirror image and the idea of a source is far from being merely a chance one.

Objeto de ficción y de teoria tratado tanto por escritores como por psicoanalistas, el mito de Narciso ha sufrido una serie de transformaciones. Al describir la proyección de uma imagen de si y la tentativa de confundirse o identificarse com ella, los relatos van de lo trágico (Ovídio) a lo triunfal (Lacan). Curiosamente, todos esos relatos tienen em común el concepto de fuente. En todos las historias, el espejo está ligado a un origen. La manera de interpretar esa relación determina el sesgo, trágico o triunfal. En una perspectiva derridiana, la autora muestra que no por casualidad existe esa relación entre la imagen especular y el concepto de fuente.
