RESUMEN

Objetivo: identificar las condiciones laborales y de salud referidas por las mujeres que trabajan en el Mercado Pesquero Artesanal de Chorrillos en el mes de enero de 2010. Material y métodos: diseño observacional descriptivo de corte transversal; se basó en la recolección y descripción de los datos obtenidos de 42 mujeres a las que se les aplicó una historia ocupacional. Resultados: el grupo etario predominante está en el rango de 40 a 49 años (38,1%); siendo casadas (45,2%); y con grado de instrucción secundaria (69%). Llevan más de 10 años (78,6%) dedicadas a las actividades conexas a la pesca, utilizando la postura de pie (95,2%) y levantando peso (76,2%) durante el desarrollo de su trabajo. El uso de medidas de protección (97,6%) es considerado para desarrollar sus labores. Las alteraciones músculo esqueléticas (45,2%) son las más predominantes según refieren. Conclusiones: el mayor porcentaje de mujeres está en el rango de los 40 y 59 años no existiendo un cambio generacional para la realización de estas actividades. La mayoría está casada lo que destaca el rol genérico que cumple como esposa y madre. Trabajan más de ocho horas diarias debido a la necesidad de aumentar sus ingresos y la informalidad de su trabajo. Manifiestan padecer de problemas articulares, óseos y circulatorios, debido al constante contacto con el frío y la humedad, asimismo por mantener una postura de pie a consecuencia de su dinámica laboral; utilizan medidas de protección por obligación de la administración del mercado mas no por reconocer la importancia de su uso.

ABSTRACT

Objective: Identify the working conditions and health reported by women working in Chorrillos fishing craft market in January 2010. Material and methods: Observational descriptive cross sectional was based on the collection and description of the data obtained from 42 women who underwent the occupational history. Results: The predominant age group is in the range of 40 to 49 years (38.1%), being married (45.2%) and grade of secondary education (69%). Are more than 10 years (78.6%) engaged in activities related to fishing, using the standing position (95.2%) and weight lifting (76.2%) during the course of their work. The use of protective measures (97.6%) is considered to develop their work. The musculoskeletal disorders (45.2%) are the most prevalent according relate. Conclusions: The highest percentage of women is in the range of 40 to 59 years did not exist a generational change in the conduct of these activities. Most are married and thus emphasizes the generic role as wife and mother met. Work more than eight hours a day because of the need to increase revenues and informality of their work. They claim to suffer from joint problems, bone and circulatory problems due to constant contact with the cold and moisture, also to maintain a standing position because of its dynamic working, use protective measures required to further market administration not to recognize the importance of their use.
