refletir sobre o significado de paliar, quando a finitude do viver se anuncia. Método:estudo bibliográfico, com levantamento em bancos de dados da área, além de livros que abordam otema. As práticas em cuidados paliativos junto ao paciente em processo de morte devem sercompreendidas a partir de um enfoque interdisciplinar favorecendo uma abordagem biopsicossocial eespiritual. Considerações finais paliar, no âmbito da saúde, é sinônimo de cuidar, contrapondo-seao curar. A morte não deve ser ocultada ou banalizada, mas sim encarada como um processo naturaldo ciclo de vida
