ABSTRACT
We studied 58 patients using socio-demographic and clinical immunologic variables, to assess the magnitude of the HIV/AIDS clinical debut in Matanzas, and to characterize these patients according to the factors associated in a potential way. An upward trend was evidenced in the incidence of the clinical debut, representing an increment of 12,2 percent comparing the extreme years of the study. The male genre represented 86,2 percent. The immunologic decline, showed by T CD4+ cells less than 200 cells per mm³ and the enormous viremia we found, marked the major panorama in patients. The necessity was evidenced of insisting in the prevention and promotion in vulnerable groups, and the active screening in the health area
