RESUMEN

Los métodos terapéuticos en la psoriasis han variado según localización de las lesiones, gravedad, duración de los brotes, tratamientos previos y edad de los pacientes, pero en realidad no se ha podido afirmar que ningún régimen sea curativo, lo que hacen es mejorar las manifestaciones cutáneas. Debido a esto se pretendió comparar la eficacia de la radiación emitida por el FOTOTER-101 como técnica de fotopuntura y la acupuntura, buscando mejores resultados en su tratamiento, y como consecuencia una mejor calidad de vida. Se aplicó un ensayo clínico terapéutico fase II en grupos paralelos, realizándose una aleatorización simple sin reemplazo. Se distribuyó a los pacientes en dos grupos (n=55 para cada grupo). El grupo A se trató con fotopuntura y el B con acupuntura. Ambos grupos recibieron evaluaciones semanales durante los 3 ciclos de tratamiento de 4 semanas cada uno, y todos recibieron posterior al tratamiento un seguimiento de un mes con evaluaciones quincenales. A mbos grupos evolucionaron satisfactoriamente, presentando mejoría al finalizar la 4ta semana de tratamiento, lográndose el blanqueamiento y la desaparición del prurito al concluir la 8va semana. Así quedó d emostrado que ambas terapias tienen resultados similares en cuanto a su efecto terapéutico

ABSTRACT

The therapeutic methods in the psoriasis have changed according to the localization of the lesions, their seriousness, outbreak lasting, previous treatment and patients' age, but in fact we can not assure that any regime heals; all they do is to improve the skin manifestations. Because of that we wanted to compare the efficacy of the radiation emitted by the FOTOTER-101 as a photopuncture and acupuncture technique, looking for better results in its treatment, and a better life quality as a result. We applied a therapeutic clinical trial phase II in both groups, making a simple randomization without replacement. We formed two groups of patients (n= 55 for each group). The group A was treated with photopuncture and the group B with acupuncture. Both groups were evaluated every week throughout the 3 four-weeks stages of treatment, and all of the patients were followed up a month after the treatment, with fortnightly evaluations. Both group showed a satisfactory evolution, and an improvement at the end of the 4th week of treatment, reaching the whitening and disappearance of the pruritus at the end of the 8th week. So, we showed that both therapies have similar results according to their therapeutic effect
